Welcome to the Crowdfunding Round-Up for the week 17th October. This week there are 20 projects launching, 20! Projects in one week and some of them are HUGE. Spirit Island: Nature Incarnate and Race to the Raft by the creator of Isle of Cats are both launching on the 18th with 16 other projects. This week will test most board gamers to the limit of their budgeting skills. Be wise, take care and happy gaming.

There are things yet unseen among the deepest roots of the land, and they now rise to meet the coming white sails. The next expansion of the award-winning settler-destruction board game is coming to Backerkit on October 18th. Nature Incarnate features 8 Spirits, 20 Aspects, new Major Powers, and brand-new mechanics for players to challenge the Invaders head-on.

Titans of ancient stone, whispered of in Dahan legend, stride across the land to sweep aside opposition. Shadows gather, and keening echoes drift through the forests, as bloodied pick and steel break the ground and force what once-was to fight at the forefront of the fray.

Spirit Island: Nature Incarnate will challenge players with hard choices, new opportunities, and a brutal side to a familiar Adversary. There's more to come for the campaign, as well! Look forward to foil Spirit Panels, new wooden token accessories, and exclusive bundles of previous content.

New spirits, new aspects, new threats, and new powers await! Crowdfunding exclusively through Backerkit on October 18th.

You and your fellow spirits should keep the commandments of the seasons. You should work as a team and reforest the forests with sacred seeds and bring in abundance.

Hitodama is a fantasy-themed strategy game with a watercolour style. It tells the story of guardians of the forest and their actions to take care of it. In each game, the board is changing, favouring, or disfavouring the cardinal points activating effects of the activated areas. The resources distributed on the board are obtained by the system of worker placement. During your turn, choose between playing cards you have in your hand or interacting with other players. Get your own resources to get your victory points, but you must not forget that the players must work as a team to advance through the seasons.

Hitodama is ideal for players looking for a challenge, but it also works great for novice players. The story is beautifully told with art that makes it unique.

A general knowledge tug-of-war!

2 teams race to name a thing in the category, starting with either letter on a newly-flipped card! The winner flips the card one ‘step’ closer to their side and covers the previous card, so the next visible card is closer to whoever was first. It’s like a tug-of-war: flip the card at your end and win again to get a point!

There are various styles of categories.

Simple categories (Animals, places, food...) result in games only a few minutes long (and suitable for playing with children in an educational environment).

Specialist categories (novels/films, brands, celebrities, games...) allow one player to show off their specialist knowledge against multiple opponents.

Meta categories (number of syllables, number of letters, rhymes...) require quick thinking and almost entirely eschew general knowledge entirely.

This was the winner of the 2017/2018 Wibbell++ design competition and is the 8th 'core game' for the Wibbell++ deck. Rules will be freely available online on 1st August 2019.

OVERVIEW: Unluckables are a mad scientist’s experiment gone wrong. Created to give bad luck, they instead absorb it! But, if an Unluckable absorbs too much, they turn from playful candy loving creatures into trick playing pranksters.

Adopt Unluckables, play tricks, activate unique abilities and do your best to avoid the perils of Unluck.

The first player to end a round with 13+ Skellies, wins!

(additional win conditions included for increased challenge and excitement)

SETUP: Each player will choose a uniquely coloured Home card, which always produces 1 Skellie, and set it face up on the table in front of them. This table space will now be referred to as your “Home.” All adopted Unluckable, as well as certain Luck or Unluck cards with the “Hold” symbol, will be played into your Home.

Congratulations! If you are the first person at the table to read these instructions, you are now designated as the First Player. Deal 3 Luck cards face down to each player. They may look at their cards, but must keep them secret from all other players. After the first player ends their turn, play will continue clockwise around the table until all players have performed their actions. At the start of each new round the First Player will rotate clockwise.

STARTING THE GAME: Starting with the First Player, you have 3 actions to perform each round. Available actions are:

Draw: Draw the top card of the Luck deck and add it to your hand.

Play: Play a Item, Trick or Support card from your hand.

Adopt: If you are able to meet the Skellie cost of an Unluckable indicated in the star symbol on the top left of the card, place it into your Home. You must draw and resolve Unluck cards up to the number indicated in the bat symbol on the top right corner.

Release: Discard any number of Unluckables and reduce the cost of adopting by their Skellie value until the end of your current turn. (adopting will require performing another action)

Activate: Perform the ability of an adopted Unluckable with an Activation symbol. You may only use an adopted Unluckable’s ability once per round.

Trade: Trade any number of cards with another player. An action is only performed if another player accepts the trade, allowing you to make multiple offers without risk of losing actions.

After you’ve performed all of your available actions, the next player may begin theirs.

HAND SIZE: Each player starts with a hand size of 5 cards, however there are ways within the game to increase your hand size. Players with more cards than their hand size must discard down, but only at the end of a round. This allows players to hold cards higher than their hand size for a brief, and hopefully beneficial, period of time.

WIN CONDITION: When adopted Unluckables are providing any player(s) with 13 or more Skellies at the end of a round, the player with the most wins!

As you know it’s been over 150 years since the inventor of the Perpetual Steam Engine (or PSE), Louise Delargue, wrote her last diary entry before her disappearance. That someone could create an invention to seemingly power cities and other technologies forever, without publishing any findings, remains the biggest scientific folly in the era of PSE.

We took the crystals for granted. The supply seemed endless and their energy seemed unending, but we underestimated the growth of populations and the greed for crystal power. As PSE’s across the world try to keep up with the demand, the crystals are breaking.

In Delta, players set out on an adventure through the Delta region of Kamargo, to try and gather more information about the crystals that power up the PSEs. as players observe the mech-animals such as the tortoise, flamingo, horses, and bulls. Send your crew to the different sections of the board to try and maximize your actions, and later on add new crew members to your team and even set out on special missions.

Manage your hand well, gather enough knowledge, and emerge as the victor in this exciting steampunk adventure.

[About this game]

This game is a trick taking game for 3-4 players with the theme of a spaceship race. This game is played with cards that have digital numbers on them. In the game, you will be utilizing small segment sticks to control and manipulate the numbers of the cards, just like matchstick puzzles. For example, you can add one segment to 0 to make it 8, or add three segment to 1 to make it 3. This is a must-follow game with an unorthodox bidding system. Only when the amount of the sticks you have left at the end of a game and the number of tricks you won are matching, you are allowed to score points.

About this game

This is a climbing-ladder/shedding-type card game with the theme of ecosystem. This game is designed to be enjoyed by 2-3 players. Players play stronger cards than each other to win the game by getting rid of their hand.

In this game, there are two types of card ranks: numbers and colours (symbols).

At the start of a game, whether you are playing for numbers or colours hasn’t yet been decided. If the subsequent card has a stronger number, you play by numbers, and if it is a stronger colour, you play by colours. If you play a card with stronger number AND colour, the rule remains undetermined, and the next player will have options to choose.

To win, it is important to plan ahead and take control of the dynamic card strengths.

As you prosper, summon your horrid Harvesters to intensify turnover, or utilize your Candy to discover new Concoctions.

Each game is unique through your choice of Confectioner and the strategies you utilize. Actions and patch varieties are limited, so your success in the meadow will rely on calculated decisions in the expansion of your meadow, the concoctions you create, and how you utilize your Sugar Sprites and Harvesters.

Will your Dreadful Meadow be an abomination, or this season's sweetest sensation?

The game is designed for 2 to 5 players, and takes 10 – 15 minutes to play.

On your turn, you can play any number of power cards to influence the game, or try to attack other players to eliminate them. Players may verbally challenge you if they feel your character does not have the ability to use a certain power, forcing you to lose some cards if you were indeed not telling the truth. At the end of your turn you must finish by drawing one card, and if you draw a Demolition card you will be eliminated from the game if you do not have any cards left to defend or heal yourself. If you are still alive after you draw a demolition card, then you will place the card back in the deck at a place of your choice, which may be later triggered by another player and remove them from the game!

With no natural resources, the Government of Uruguay is concerned about the country’s dependence on imported fossil fuels. As a consequence, it is seeking to increase the share of domestic resources, of which the most feasible are biomass and wind energy, as well as employing end-use energy efficiency measures to increase its energy security. In addition, the government aims to use the intended growth of the domestic energy sector to foster its other objectives of increasing economic growth and creating employment. (Extract from World Bank Documents, CASE STUDY 11: URUGUAY – WIND ENERGY PROGRAMME )

"Toward noon, however, the sun's rays were extremely scorching, and when evening came, a bar of clouds streaked the southwest horizon - a sure sign of a change in the weather. The Patagonian pointed it out to the geographer, who replied:

'Yes, I know;' and turning to his companions, added, 'see, a change of weather is coming! We are going to have a taste of PAMPERO.' And he went on to explain that this PAMPERO is an extremely dry wind which blows from the southwest. [...] The PAMPERO generally brings a tempest which lasts three days, and may be always foretold by the depression of the mercury, 'he said. 'But when the barometer rises, on the contrary, which is the case now, all we need expect is a few violent blasts. So you can make your mind easy, my good friend; by sunrise the sky will be quite clear again.' ( Jules Verne, 1868: In Search of the Castaways. CHAPTER XVI: THE NEWS OF THE LOST CAPTAIN. )

After three actions, a special phase takes place — consolidation, during which you retrieve the rightmost card from any row, generate batteries from stored energy, collect income, and advance the game timer. The player with the most money at the end of the game wins.
